A bit late tonight, as my kids were home for Spring Break and after they got to bed, my wife and I finished watching /The Sopranos/ for the first time (very short thoughts: great show, stupid ending, though not inconsistent thematically). At any rate, I've been meditating on the words for my take on a "Hail Idun" all week, taking into account a lot of thoughts from the feedback I got. I think I'm getting closer, but I'm still not there, so here's three more takes:
Way 1
Hail Idun,
Yggdrasill's Seed,
Goddess ale-giving,
Beloved wife of wordcraft.
Holy Idun,
Heal our souls,
with bliss of blessed drink,
and nut of the knowledge of life.
Way 2
Hail Idun,
ale-giver,
Wise Lady of Learning,
Beloved bride of Brego.
Blissful Idun,
Bless us living
with shining light everliving,
with holy life everlasting.
Way 3
Hail Idun,
Elf-kind,
Ale-giving Goddess,
Beloved bride of Brego.
Blithe Idun,
Bless our hearts,
with apples age-lifting,
with life world-leaping.
